Samahang Modern is UCLA’s premiere hip-hop dance team, stemming from the Samahang Pilipino organization on campus. Entirely comprised of and directed by students at UCLA, the team constantly strives to balance rigorous academic obligations with their passion for dance.

Samahang Modern was originally created to perform at UCLA’s annual Pilipino Culture Night, but has started to perform and compete off campus, having made appearances at large venues such as Prelude, Fusion, Maxt Out, and Bust-a-Groove. As produ Bruins they show their support by performing at UCLA-sponsored events such as Dance Marathon, Spring Sing, and Men’s Basketball, to name a few. The team continues to grow every year, taking and molding new talent not only for the benefit of its dancers, but also for the school and audiences beyond….
